Summer type weather

Today started out rainy of course but it was also hot and muggy. Not something we are used to here at the coast.

This Saturday we are doing a family day. Going to see Monsters Inc. Take my sewing machine in to be tuned up and go to dinner. Away from here. It'll be fun for us to get family time.

I got M's quilt back from the longarmer. I just love it!!   It is her 100 Good Wishes Quilt. I started this before we adopted her four years ago.  All I have to do now is bind it and put the label on and I'm done.

 

It's a little hard to see but once I saw the daisy design I knew that was the one. As you can see there are little white daisies with yellow centers as the backing for this quilt. So yellow thread and the daisies made it wonderful!




She knows she has this quilt coming to her....eventually. Every now and then she asks me when she is going to get it. I am planning to give it to her for her birthday next month. She'll be so excited.

I showed it off to my boss who then asked me to make one for his wife for Christmas. I almost have it done. I just have to sew the white sashings to the rows and joila, a top. Then I can take it to my longarmer and get it quilted before she heads south for the winter.

Time to go pick M up from my sister's house.

New baby

Today I had my new sewing machine delivered. That was so nice of the seller to bring it to me. It's a White model 1514.

 

It probably needs a new belt. It seems a bit dry. I love the way it sounds when it runs.  Tomorrow I am going to sit down and give it a work out.

 

I had a family free week while they were at our vacation home. Of course I had to work thru that time so it didn't really count.

 

Well it's time for me to head to bed. Too sleepy to stay up tonight.
