Winter is here.

We got more snow. Now that I have to keep M entertained with something my sewing time is pretty much non existant.  I can't even get her to go outside and play in the snow.  I've never heard of any kids that don't want to play in the snow, till now. Looks like I have to refill the woodstove. TTFN

My Sew-in days

Friday after work I packed up my quilting gear and headed two towns north and locked myself in a motel room. I had an ocean view (partial), a fireplace and a law and order maration. The best hotel experience I've ever had. only the room below mine was rented and I didn't hear them the whole time. Here is a shot of my view and room.

I either have a lot of extra pieces or not enough. I'm not sure which. I need to research out how many blocks this quilt will end up having.

As promised, we got some snow today. At home it was about an inch. Where I was it was about half an inch of hail. I couldn't tell if it made it clear to the shore or not.
M lost her second tooth today. With my help. She was so happy to know that the dentist wasn't going to be the person pulling her tooth. Now her adult teeth can move into the correct position.

What a sweet husband I have. He is making lasagna for dinner. With no help from me and it was his idea.

Happenings

Since Christmas I have been so tired that I haven't been doing much in the way of finishing Orca Bay. It's no longer a mystery but I would really like to finish. I have seen some beautiful quilts in different color ways. To see more go to http://www.quiltville.blogspot.com/ and click on Orca Bay and then to Monday January 2.

Miss M lost her first tooth tonight. Of course as I was showing her how dental floss worked going between her teeth I stopped at the loose tooth she has been babying for months ( I see braces in her future) so I put the floss around the loose one and pulled straight out. She was so excited when I told her the tooth came out that she didn't complain about the pain. The adult teeth were already coming up behind the baby teeth and the front ones had to go.Can't wait to see what the tooth fairy leaves tonight.

Rose Bowl win

Way to go Ducks!! They won the Rose Bowl tonight. 45-38. I don't even care for sports so thankfully dh only watches the bowl games and then only if Oregon is in it.
I got a couple of blocks done for the top of Orca Bay. Too bad I am just too tired to keep working on it tonight.  Here is a photo of the two blocks done my way sewn together. The white star block with geese and then the dark star with complete sashing.

Step 7

I finished step 7 (ok I have to cut and sew 2 hourglass blocks and then I'm done) and have seen the finale.

It is a beautiful quilt top. Thank you Bonnie for a wonderful mystery. to see the final quilt go to quiltville.blogspot.com and click on Orca Bay mystery.  I'll post mine when I get it to that stage. Thanks to the the Oregon - Wisconsin game being on I have lots of time to sew the top together. Go Ducks! Once together I hope I like the contrast. Some of the brown seems to blend a little too much with some of the reds. This is a quilt I could see myself making again in a different color scheme.
